Mezzo/vocalist

Nina is a mezzo soprano specialising in the performance of music composed in the last fifty years, and has given premieres of pieces by Mic Spencer, Martin Iddon, Manuella Blackburn, Lauren Redhead, Ian Vine, Edd Caine, Richard Whalley and many others. Her repertoire includes music by Luciano Berio, John Cage, György Kurtág, George Aperghis, and Morton Feldman, and she has performed at major venues and festivals such as Sonorities (Belfast), Kings Place, York Late Music Festival, Manchester International Festival, and the RNCM as a soloist and with ensembles Kairos and Trio Atem.

Nina is a founder member of Trio Atem, who regularly commission new compositions: www.trio-atem.co.uk Projects include The Alchemy Collection by Michael Mayhew (funded by the PRS for Music Foundation) – a series of ‘hyper-graphic’ scores inspired by chemical elements, environmental concerns, Mayhew’s experiences of deafness in 2009, and action painting.
